Surface treatment for better Engineering application

Various surface treatments are available for many alloys e.g. for Aluminum anodizing, phosphating, coating, plating and ion implantation are used. Basic purpose of all these coatings is to made wear resistant surface with soft core to make a component impact resistant. Heat treatment may be one method but not applicable in all alloys.
